Just wanted to let you know about an event coming up.

Upper Marlboro, MD. 20772

Cost of the event is $10 for the day or weekend with or without feast. No fires on ground. Only in provided fire pits. If you arrive early please remember where other groups have camped in the past.

Troll will open on Friday May 18 at 12 pm. Please do not arrive any earlier.
Weapons check and Troll will be open Saturday May 19 at 10 am. Battles and scenarios will be from 12 on. These have to be worked out but just let me say I got a few suprises in store for the day. I have heard your feedback and will act on it.
Also happening on Saturday will be The General Mayhem Polish Highlander Tourny run by me. Promptly at 5 pm on Saturday will be AWC held in the pavillion. Following that we will be having a feast at 7 pm. Yes I said a feast!! Remember the guy that Mace and Malice got us last year? I hope so cause he is back!! The evening festivities will be held throughout the site on a group by group basis.
Sunday - Need to clear out no later than 12 pm. Please police your campsites and fighting areas and dipose of refuse in proper receptacles.

Hope to see everybody out!! Please don't forget to inform your group leaders about War Council!!

This Story starts as many do on a dark and stormy night, it is early spring and the rainy season has just began . It has been a particularly Dark winter for Queen Raine , She Has been almost non-existent for many months and many fear for her sanity .

On this night Kensmen Iskandar and Sir D'james where summoned to the castle of the White dragon. When they arrive they are meet at the door by the realization of there greatest fear ,The ghastly site of a Mad Women . Before you enter into my this house you must swear on the life of one another to never reveal what i am about to tell you as long as i am walking this earth.

With each taking a vow of secrecy . She lead them into her castle on the bed lay a brand new Baby girl with Hair so kinky and red you would of thought her ablaze . Sit we must talk, all i can see in my dreams is a Foul future i fear for the line of Wyndhaven.Most of this began one night in the heat of summer i dreamt of an uncontrollable fire raging through my castle and all where consumed with in it Finn even my brother and the two of you, amidst all the screams a voice came to me "What would you do to make the screams stop" i shouted "anything please make it stop"
the fire it's self ravaged me. I swear it when i woke i had blisters on my body as if i where really in a fire you believe me D'james? don't you? Iskandar ? the dreams have only gotten worse more intense more violent I am losing my grip on reality...

And because of this i must make a final request of you my most loyal men at arms. This is my daughter Hellina i need you to take her into your household train her to fight and to survive because she will need it. will you brothers please take her in and raise her ?

D'james replied yes my Queen anything you need we are in your service . then take her and go now before it is to late. Iskandar" but my queen" ... Go damn you , protect her with your life .Rapping the baby in his cloak they headed out into the night

as the years passed the queen became worse spiraling into madness and then a rose...
that is another story

Hel grew and became one of the most feared spear maidens soon the call of this holy war could no longer be ignored buy D'james. He gathered up his best and brightest and off to the holy land he went.

As the Gwynaddian ship rounded into the Mediterranean D'James's heart sunk for how could he protect her while dragging her into this most holy of wars? in meditation and prayer He begged of the one true God for guidance. When after many hours of prayer
he came on deck to find a fog bank like none ever seen enveloping the ship.

The captain called for an all stop as visibility diminished to only a few feet.

As time passes D'james began to hear in the distance a strange instrument cutting through the fog. The man in the crows nest also began to hear it and shouts " Ahoy" .
In the distance "AHOY" soon the two ships where bound together and all aboard where drinking and dancing . Many gifts where exchanged and coins where gambled . Soon it became apparent that the captain and Hel where quite mesmerized by one another. when she woke in the morning the sun was shining brightly in the window and She knew D'james and the other Gwyneddians where gone. thankfully she had fallen in love with this captain named O'neye

I recently have returned from a deployment. I want to say hello to all of my friends and family. I can hardly wait to see all of you in the future. To drink a drink and swing a stick. Maybe even dance a dance if we drink enough drink.

Would anyone out there have web addresses for patterns on garb we can make. I have a sewing machine I am going to try and find in my storage units. If I can locate it I would like to try and start making some Garb. Especially for little Bella. So, any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

I was perusing the list of topics, upon which we are requested to comment or begin discussions. I came across the one titled Website. We are requested to offer up "constructive criticism". I suggest that no one do that, as we have witnessed a phenomenon known to some as "man wars". This leads me to believe that if one constructs a criticism, the next person will come along thinking they have to build one BIGGER. Then a third party will probably get involved, thinking that they have to out do the first two. And then one of the first two will start posting disparaging remarks about the third. Then feelings are sure to get hurt, a war will ensue, and the Kingdom will fall to internal strife.

Not trying to open a can of worms here, but what the hell, I'll kick it down the road for sure.

I am going to Gates of Summer this year, it is 3-6 May in Holden, Missouri. If anyone wants to come along for the ride, they are welcome. Just wanted to offer, I'll be doing all the driving myself.

In case anyone was wondering; It is an 18 hour drive. and yes, I am doing it anyway.
