Brian's name is K'Tar. Just think K'Pax, you'll never forget it...

I don't know what we're bringing, but I'm not sure if it is a mushroom dish or not. I do know that Silk wanted to make sure mushrooms would be okay if that is what was ultimately decided though...

House Red » Site Clean Up Sep 7, 2010 01:01 PM (Total replies: 5)

I'll help with clean-up as much as possible, but, any activity not related to school has to be be carefully planned as my free time is fleeting...

I hate to say it, but I spent a lot of time clearing/excavating my plot of land as it is, and I'm quite attached to it. If need be, I'll maintain some space within 'Camp Red' for an auxilliary set-up, but I'll be hard pressed to give up what I've already got. Besides, seeing as I'm dating a Wyndhaven, it is nice to have land we use together which is independent of either House...

These probably won't give more than 3-4x candle power without starting to burn the wicks up since the oil needs to heat to combust. Nonetheless, it seems VERY worth looking into. Besides, the more material in the wick, the more potential oil being drawn to the flame, it may just be a matter of finding the appropriate wick thickness to flame size ratio...

Rules rules » Fighting against Gwynedd Sep 1, 2010 02:39 PM (Total replies: 17)

In the spirit of flogging deceased equines...

In the matter of being at an official battle, Gwyneddians fight with Gwynedd, no ifs ands or buts about it (unless the scenario laid forth happens to segregate the unit by age, gender, veteran status, etc...)

As for something other than that, I'd have to say it is at the discretion of the person, and thier respective house leader and/or the king. Bearing that in mind, if somebody is going to be fighting against Gwynedd at an extra curricular activity, it is only in the spirit of fairness that they inform other Gwyneddians that they come across that they are fighting for somebody else at the time.

Game = Fun!!

Honestly, I'm amused by the music video that was made, although the original footage was a gem in-and-of-itself.

I'd have to say that any problems that guy is facing are due to nurture (environment), not nature...

I'm game!

I definitely plan on being there early as I usually am in order to set up the shop with Theas. May as well take care of camp lay-out as well...

I should be able to make Sept 11th, I've practically removed myself from the schedule at work in order to make sure I'm able to succeed in my classes this semester.

This is for a House meeting, isn't it?

I'll see what I can muster up for weekend availability.
My job sucks up my weekends...

This upcoming school semester will destroy my availability on Tue, Wed, and Thurs

I'll see what I can work out.

Event-Related Announcements » SILK'S B-DAY!!! Jul 28, 2010 07:51 PM (Total replies: 7)

Hi Everybody!

Squire Silk's birthday anniversary has passed on the 27th!! Seeing as that was a Tuesday, it is tough to get out and party it up during the week, therefore she will be at the Queen's Gambit on Saturday the 31st, after 8PM.

All are invited to show up and party/sing/well-wish with us as we celebrate her birthday this Saturday!

They check ID at the door, and it is best to show up in something a little more than a Tee-Shirt.

I apologize for the short notice, but we hope to see as many of you there as possible!!!

General Discussion and Announcements » Transportation ideas Jul 26, 2010 06:20 PM (Total replies: 8)

That may be your only sensible option. The ride into MD can be a long one on Sunday with people coming back into town from their weekend vacations, let alone, making two round trips to pick ya up and then drop ya back off...

That is an awful tall order, and an exceptional burden to put onto somebody.

We have spoken before about you trying to get to other, more local unit's practices when you can't make it out here for ours, you may want to consider that option on those occasions where a ride here isn't viable.

I think Google Maps would be able to show you the location of the nearest Metro station. Then you could hop a metro-train to Springfield where you could be a lot easier to pick up.

BTW,
Speaking of Drums.

I bring my drums to events for my enjoyment, and the entertainment of those interested in listening or dancing. Recently, I've seen what can happen to an abused drum, and it isn't pretty. I don't want anybody getting upset if I'm a bit over-protective of my drums and don't let anybody touch them for a while.

If you do have the opportunity to borrow somebody's drum, you should treat it with the utmost respect and care.
- Remove all rings before hitting the drum
- If you don't know how to hit it properly, ASK
- Do not spill anything on the drums, even if they are made of metal and plastic
- Do not bleed on the drums
- Do not hand the drum off to another person to play
- Do not carry the drum around, play it where the other drummers are playing
- Do not hit the drums with anything other than your hands (including not using your fingernails)
- Do not drop the drums
- Do not beat the $hit out of the drums
- DO NOT ABUSE THE DRUMS!!
- etc, etc...

Thank you, and like I said, please don't get upset at me if I don't let you play my drums. I've spend a little money on them, and have put a lot of care into one of my drums. They aren't toys.

Don't get me wrong, the mundane people were necessary as there were some participants there who were under 18, and Cooper's Lake policy required legal guardians present.

When some of our younger members came to Badon Hill, their folks came with them too. But they wore garb and participated. In fact, I miss those guys, they were a lot of fun. Hope they can make it out again sometime...

In all honesty, I personally could give a rats tooshie where we camp, as long as Gwynedd has a Home. Camp this past Rag wasn't Home. The place felt segregated and alien. If necessary, I'll volunteer myself as Camp Master in order to have a smooth and organized set-up with whatever space we get.
As it goes, the branch of the grapevine I was able to hear has all been in favor of Gwynedd (Galatia included) acquiring her own site next Rag, and making it Home...

Owen, I've never been to that campsite before this year, ergo, I've never been to, let alone, camped in the Bog. I've heard it is the site of choice for those Gwyneddians that have come before us, and I've heard that there is plenty of shade. That being said, it sounded like the place to be. Nonetheless, there are at least a few of us whose sentiment is in line with my first sentence here.
